William Henry Dickerson

WILLIAM HENRY DICKERSON age 80, of 2821 Lucy Garrett Road, Roxboro, NC died Sunday afternoon, January 12, 2020 at Person Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Dickerson was born August 3, 1939, in Person County, NC son of the late Walter Grey Dickerson & Ombrice Harris Dickerson and was husband of 61 years to Barbara Jean Powell Dickerson who survives. Prior to retirement from Wade Grocery Co. he worked at Collins & Aikman Corp., Loxcreen, and CB Drug Co.  He enjoyed watching Nascar, having a good Margarita, animals, holding and talking to babies, working on lawn mowers, and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Jeffrey Dickerson & wife, Renee of Roxboro, NC, Jeanne D. Tate & husband, Campbell of Efland, NC, two grandchildren, Chris Dickerson & wife, Tara, Lindsay Foushee & husband, Matthew, three great grandchildren, Conner Dickerson, Collin Dickerson, Madison Milam, brother, Talmadge Dickerson, four sisters, Joyce Carver, Ruby Whitfield, Ruth Burch, Christine Kepley, two step-brothers, Ted Dickerson, Tim Dickerson, best friend, Jesse Duncan & wife, Brenda, and a host of nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dickerson is preceded in death by four brothers, Roland Dickerson, Gerald Ray Dickerson, Gilbert Dickerson, Sam Dickerson, and four sisters, Dorothy Wrenn, Betty Wilkins, Gertie Holt, and Evelyn Shotwell.

Keeping William’s wishes, no services are planned.
