Walter Edward Fox

WALTER EDWARD FOX, age 92, of Roxboro, NC died Tuesday evening, December 31, 2019 at the Roxboro Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Fox was born April 24, 1927 in Person County, NC, son of the late Ed Younger & Thelma Sally Woody Fox and was husband of 63 years to the late Doris Ellen Guill Fox.  He was retired from Eaton Corp., was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the US Army where he served in WWII.

Surviving are three children, Brenda Fox Rickman (Tommy Pentecost) of Roxboro, NC, Donald E. Fox (Bonnie) of Alton, VA, David L. Fox of Leasburg, NC, four grandchildren, Kevin Campbell, Dustin Fox (Tabitha), Joni F. Womack (Michael), Marie F. Morris (Dale), step-grandson, Timothy Carter, seven great grandchildren, sister, Mary F. Weaver, and sister-in-law, Barbara Fox.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Fox is preceded in death by two brothers, Christo Fox, Fred Fox, Sr., and sister, Mildred Fox Sowers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2020 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Richard Long officiating.  Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Bonnie & Donald Fox, 1021 Woodsdale Road, Alton, VA.    

Pallbearers will be Perry Bray, Kevin Campbell, Dustin Fox, Fred Fox, Jr., Mark Fox, Steve Fox, Larry Weaver, and Michael Womack.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the mama’s and man’s of Roxboro Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center for the loving care that they provided.
