Orene Oakley Watson

ORENE OAKLEY WATSON, age 87, of 1704 Mollie Mooney Road, Roxboro, NC died Saturday morning, January 11, 2020 at Duke Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Watson was born December 4, 1932 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Lewis June Oakley & Mary Christine Welch Oakley and was wife of 63 years to Linwood Robert Watson who survives.  She was retired from Eaton Corp. after 29 years of service and was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Dale Linwood Watson & wife, Vickey, Rick L. Watson, all of Roxboro, NC, two grandsons, Jason L. Watson & wife, Hollie, Jeff L. Watson & wife, Jennifer, two great grandchildren, Morgan Watson, Hailey Watson, sister, Mary Lee Currin, and brother, Cecil Oakley & wife, Brenda.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2020 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Scott Day officiating.  Interment will follow in the Timberlake Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 6:30 till 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2020 at the funeral home and other times at the home of Dale & Vickey Watson, 1750 Mollie Mooney Road, Roxboro, NC.

Pallbearers will be Emmitt Duncan, Mickey Glasscock, Wendell Hudson, Scott Reaves, Jason Watson, and Jeff Watson.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
