Mary Catherine (Oakley) Romulo

MARY CATHERINE OAKLEY ROMULO, age 69, of 749 North Main Street, Roxboro, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones Wednesday afternoon, March 6, 2024 at Person Memorial Hospital.

Ms. Romulo was born July 19, 1954 in Pittsylvania County, VA, daughter of the late Buddy Oakley & the late Eunice Alexandra Wade Shotwell.  She was previously employed with North American Aerodynamics and was of the Baptist faith.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Cathy enjoyed trips to the beach, crafting, watching movies, dancing, playing cards, and just being with other people.

Surviving are her loving daughter, Maria Romulo, brother, Wayne Nelson Oakley & wife, Kathleen, brother-in-law, Fred Ballew, sister-in-law, Patty Oakley, and a host of nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Romulo is preceded in death by her siblings, Stephen Oakley, Shirley Ballew, and Robert “Bobby” Oakley.

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 16, 2024 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating.
