Wray (Turner) Weaver

WRAY TURNER WEAVER, age 91, of 89 Clayton Glenn Road, Roxboro, NC passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, October 14, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. 

Mrs. Weaver was born May 26, 1934 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late William Andrew & Mamie Elizabeth Zimmerman Turner and was wife of 49 years to William Merritt Weaver who survives.  She was retired from Collins & Aikman Corp. and was of the Baptist faith.

Wray enjoyed her flowers, working jigsaw puzzles, and cooking. 

Surviving in addition to her husband are four children, Jennifer Weaver-Carmichael (Hiede), Charlene Whitt, Kelly G. Wallace, Robbie Wallace (Angela), daughter-in-law, Elvira Whitt, ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Weaver is preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Wallace, son, Blake Whitt, four brothers, Swanson Turner, El Turner, Marvin Turner, Bernice Turner, and a great-granddaughter, Nicole Lynn Rimmer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2025 at New Life Independent Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Whitt officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 2:00 till 3:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Jason Beaver, Paul Beaver, Kevin DuPont, Daniel Moore, Daniel Pulliam, and Coleman Wallace.  Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Radcliffe, and Trae Wallace.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 3320 US 1 Highway, Suite B, Franklinton, NC 27525.
