Wilma Kate (Martin) Paul

WILMA KATE MARTIN PAUL, age 75, of Roxboro, NC passed away peacefully Thursday morning, October 2, 2025 at her home with her loving sons by her side. 

Mrs. Paul was born July 12, 1950 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Huel Madison Martin & Augusta Moore Martin and was wife of 56 years to the late Earl Wayne Paul.  She had previously work for Dialight and was retired from Bethel Hill Charter School.  Wilma was a member of Theresa Baptist Church but attended Calvary Baptist Church where she grew up attending, and was also a member of the Sappony Tribe.

Wilma affectionally known as Chief, Mama, Nanny, Grandma, Nay-Nay, Wil-moe, and friend, depending who she was talking to enjoyed anything to do with crafting and spending time with her friends, but was happiest when she was with her family and grandchildren. 

Surviving are two sons, William “Will” Paul, Shawn W. Paul & wife, Heather, three grandchildren, Levi Paul & wife, Faith, Laci Paul, Christian Paul, siblings, Orene Shepherd, Etta Godsey & husband, Emory, Carol Long, Roger Martin & wife, Carol, Gertie Newton, Lawrence Martin & wife, Sally, honorary grandchildren, Tina Williams, Janna Roberts, Liena Jo Roberts, and Joseph Lee Roberts, Jr.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Paul is preceded in death by a brother, Danny Martin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Vernon Wilkerson and the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating.  Interment will follow in the Theresa Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 2:00 till 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Will Paul, 172 Wrenn Acres Trail, Roxboro, NC. 

Pallbearers will be Kirk Carver, Chris Clayton, Chris Lappin, Garrey Martin, Ray Paul, and Kelly Small.  Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Martin, Chief Otis Martin, and Bobby Seamons.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2663 High Plains Road, Roxboro, NC 27574.
