WILLIE EDWARD BROOKS, age 95, of 481 Tom Oakley Road, Timberlake, NC, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 31, 2026 at his home. Mr. Brooks was born October 26, 1930 in Person County, NC, son of the late Edward & Ila Mae Williams Brooks and was husband of 72 years to the late Wilma Mae Slaughter Brooks. He was retired from farming and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Willie enjoyed working, fishing, camping, and riding his Gator.
Surviving are two children, Joan B. Holeman & husband, Charles, Donald E. “Donnie” Brooks, five grandchildren, Brandon “BB” Brooks & wife, Morgan, Tiffany Montague & husband, Jeremy, Charles Holeman, Jr. & wife, Kristi, Ashley Young & husband, Brad, Michelle Wrenn, nine great-grandchildren, Jenna Brooks, Davis Brooks, Abby Montague, Carson Montague, Landon Moser, Will Holeman, Kaitlyn Harris & husband, Joseph, Paisley Young, Will Young, and brother, Carlton Brooks & wife, Carol.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Brooks is preceded in death by siblings, Hugh Brooks, Rachel Moize, Edna Moize, Lois Rogers, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Whitt Brooks.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Antioch Baptist Church with Dr. M. David Chambers and Pastor Mike Whitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Brandon “BB” Brooks, Joseph Harris, Charles Holeman, Jr., Will Holeman, Jeremy Montague, Landon Moser, Brad Young, and Will Young.
