William "Billy" Napoleon Long

WILLIAM NAPOLEON "BILLY" LONG, age 71, of Roxboro, NC passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 18, 2026 at Duke Regional Hospital.  Born February 24, 1954 in Pittsylvania Co., VA, son of the late Jesse Herman & Lilly Juanita Edwards Long and was husband of 46 years to the late Barbara Ann Terrell Long.  He was retired from Roxboro Engine Builders.

Billy enjoyed working on cars, fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan.

Surviving are a son, Richard Lee Long & wife, Lacey, two grandsons, Caleb Long, Cobey Long, brother, Jesse Herman Long, Jr., five sisters, Anita Ann Long, Brenda Gill, Kathy Long, Karen Thurman, and Crystal Walker.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Long is preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Long, and brothers, Arthur Ray Long, and Robbie Preston Long, Sr.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4:00 till 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services.
