WILLIAM CURTIS HORNBUCKLE, age 62, of 2720 Mt. Harmony Church Road, Rougemont, NC died Wednesday afternoon, January 19, 2022 at Duke Regional Hospital.
Mr. Hornbuckle was born December 24, 1959 in Hartford County, CT, son of the late James “Jimmy” Samuel Hornbuckle Jr. & the late Rachel Daphine Allen Hornbuckle and was husband of 32 years to Suzanne Taylor Hornbuckle who survives. He was a transportation supervisor for NCDOT in Durham County and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a brother, David Hornbuckle, and sister, Betsy H. Bowes & husband, Haywood all of Rougemont, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2022 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Barry Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Mike Bowling, Richard Bowling, Jay Jennings, James Mangum, Bruce Whitfield, and David Wilson.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Vintage Racers for Rescues c/o Sasco, 1010 Ryans Way, Alton, VA 24520.
