Vickie Marie (Perkins) Clayton

VICKIE MARIE PERKINS CLAYTON, age 75, of 649 Oliver Loop Road, Roxboro, NC died Saturday evening, October 5, 2024 at UNC Medical Center.

Mrs. Clayton was born December 30, 1948 in Pittsylvania County, VA, daughter of the late Charles Henry & Elizabeth Ann Bailey Perkins and was wife of 44 years to the late Douglas Wayne Clayton.  She was previously employed with Newell Interiors and was of the Baptist faith.

Vickie enjoyed diamond art painting, crafting, baking, shopping, watching Law & Order, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two children, Nicole Clayton of Roxboro, NC, Christopher Clayton & wife, Carmen of Efland, NC, six grandchildren, Shania Clayton, Kianna Parker, Brianna Parker, Cheyenne Summer, Destiny Storm, Bevin Pollard, seven great-grandchildren, and sister, Paula Owen & husband, David. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Clayton is preceded in death by a sister, Ann Scruggs.

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2024 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. David Owen officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests at the home.
