Trent McCutcheon Yarborough

On Saturday, June 10, 2023, Trent McCutcheon Yarborough passed away at the age of 27 in his apartment at 2000 F Street NW, Apt. 106, Washington, DC. He was born on May 26, 1996, in Craven County, NC, to his parents, Mr. Lawrence Emile “Larry” and Dr. Kimberly Anne Mangum “Kimmie” Yarborough, Jr.  who survive him. 

Trent is also survived by his brother, Lawrence “Lance” Emile Yarborough III of China, his sister, Elizabeth Bryce Yarborough of New Orleans, Louisiana, and his grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Woody of Roxboro, NC. 

He is preceded in death by his sister, Simone Marie Yarborough, and grandparents, Mr. Lawrence E. & Marion Adele Yarborough, Sr., W. Ruffin Woody, Jr., Richard A. Mangum, MD.

Trent was an accomplished student with a bright future.  He skipped the first grade at Woodland Elementary and went on to become Valedictorian at Roxboro Community School in 2013. He received the Dean’s Honor Scholarship to Tulane University in New Orleans, where he earned a BS in Engineering  Physics. After working for a few years, he was awarded a scholarship to George Washington University Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2023. Trent enjoyed gaming, theater, hanging out with his friends, sailing, and traveling with his family. He had friends all over the country. Despite living away from Roxboro for most of his adult life, Trent grew to appreciate his hometown and planned to return after law school to contribute to the community.

A celebration of Trent's life will take place at 4:30 pm on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Unsalted Farm at Hyco Lake, located at 9958 Semora Road, Semora, NC. Dr. DuPre Sanders and Mr. Raymond L. Echevarria, III will officiate. Attire is casual/lake attire. Visitation will be held at Strickland and Jones Memorial Funeral Services on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Trent Yarborough Memorial Engineering Scholarship that is currently being set up to honor the memory of Trent and his passion for engineering.
