Tracey Barnette Carver

TRACEY BARNETTE CARVER, age 59, of 363 Providence Road, Roxboro, NC passed away Monday morning, January 8, 2024 at his home.

Mr. Carver was born January 14, 1964 in Person County, NC, son of the late Henry Barnette “Peter” Carver, Jr. & the late Blanchie Sue Clayton Carver and was husband of 35 years to Donna Lynn Eastwood Carver who survives.  He was employed with Fox’s Suzuki and was a member of North Roxboro Baptist Church.

Tracey enjoyed animals, Halloween, telling jokes, magic tricks, trivia, reading, going to the lake, and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Brittany A. Carver, Amber N. Carver, both of the home, siblings, Anita C. Poindexter of Semora, NC, Darnell Carver & wife, Vickie of Roxboro, NC, Jackie Carver & wife, Glynda of Bedford, VA, and a host of nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Jackie Carver, and Stephen Poindexter officiating.  Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Stacey Compton, Richard Fox, Chase Poindexter, Jay Poindexter, Stephen Poindexter, Travis Poindexter, Jimmy Simpson, and Joe Weaver.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Eastwood, Todd Fox, and Owen Poindexter.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the Person County Animal Protection Services, 2103 Chub Lake Road, Roxboro, NC 27574.
