"Tootie" Anthony Cleveland Thornburg

ANTHONY CLEVELAND “TOOTIE” THORNBURG, age 52, of 101 Tara Lane, Timberlake, NC died Friday evening, January 24, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Thornburg was born November 16, 1967 in Person County, NC, son of the late Larry Edward Thornburg & Dorine Harris Thornburg who survives and was husband of 11 years to Regina Jones Thornburg who also survives.  Prior to becoming disabled he worked for the Town of Wake Forest as a Lineman and was of the Baptist faith.  Tootie enjoyed hunting, fishing, car shows, visiting with and checking on other people, playing ping pong, helping other people even if it was just to buy them breakfast or lunch, and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are three children, Peyton Thornburg, Mackenzi Thornburg, Hunter Thornburg, two brothers, Craig Thornburg & wife, Janet, Blake Thornburg & fiancée, Melissa Walsh Raab, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2020 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating.  Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services and other times at the home.  

Pallbearers will be Keith Bowes, Mark Gill, Brooks Pleasants, Lee Pulliam, Ed Thornburg, and Jonathan Thornburg.  Honorary pallbearers will be Nelson Carver, Gerry Oliver, Matthew Thornburg, and Garry “Pluck” Yarboro.
