Susie Mae (Walker) Seamster

SUSIE MAE WALKER BOWES SEAMSTER age 98, of 1999 Hwy 119 S., Mebane, NC died Thursday morning, April 22, 2021 at the Hospice Home of Alamance.

Mrs. Seamster was born July 27, 1922 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Howard & Lucy Vicks Walker and was wife of 51 years to the late Willie E. “Bill” Bowes and wife of 16 years to the late Albert Seamster. She was a homemaker and was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church.

Surviving are three children, Shirley Wilson of Graham, NC, Linda Bowes of Mebane, NC, James Ellis Bowes of Roxboro, NC, sister, Evelyn Hatcher of Roxboro, NC, twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Seamster is preceded in death by two sons, William Tex Bowes, Harold Merritt Bowes, four sisters, Eva G. Lee, Mary Harris, Betty Harris, Helen Rogers, four brothers, Charlie Walker, Willie Walker, Sam Walker, and Junior Walker.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. David Bunch officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Billy Bowes, Hal Bowes, Matt Bowes, Ernie Caviness, Will Caviness and Jason Tuck.
