Shirley (Beaver) Walker

SHIRLEY BEAVER WALKER, age 86, of 2701 Burlington Road, Roxboro, NC, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 17, 2026 at her home.  Mrs. Walker was born December 7, 1939 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Victor Long Beaver & Casey Brown Beaver.  She worked for Western Electric and later retired from GMH Electronics, and was a member of Clement Baptist Church.

Shirley enjoyed retirement, going out to eat, and taking care of her fur babies, Reese Walker and Gretchen Walker.

Surviving are two sons, Dale Walker, David Walker (Jodi) all of Roxboro, NC, two step-children, Ricky Walker of Roxboro, NC, Deborah Walker of Virginia, sister, Katie B. Paith of Roxboro, NC, grandson, Cameron Walker of Roxboro, NC, niece, Janet Paith, nephew, Chris Paith, and step-granddaughter, Christina Stanfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2026 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with Dr. M. David Chambers officiating.  Interment will follow in the Burchwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 11:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.  

Pallbearers will be Rob Carter, Robbie Carver, David Evans, Jay O’Briant, Floyd Stone, and Eric Warren.
