Shirley Ann (Stanley) Meadows

SHIRLEY ANN STANLEY MEADOWS, age 82, of Roxboro, NC passed away Friday, August 22, 2025 at Duke Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Meadows was born on March 21, 1943 in Jefferson County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Joseph & Georgia Brown Stanley and was wife of fifty years to Clayton Lunsford Meadows who survives.  She was an LPN that served in various medical facilities, retired as nurse for the Wayne County Jail, and was a Christian.

She loved animals and fostered many dogs over the years.  She also enjoyed traveling with her best friend Sandra Carden.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Meadows is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Meadows, five grandchildren, two sisters, Debra Thornsberry and Janie Cook, special niece, Sarah Flesche, special friend, Sandra Hicks Carden, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Meadows is preceded by a son, Bobby Meadows and a sister, Margaret Flesche.  

A private Celebration of Life service was conducted Sunday, August 24, 2025.
