Shelby Jean (Perkins) Peed

SHELBY PERKINS PEED age 84, of 180 Walkers Path, Roxboro, NC died Thursday afternoon, May 13, 2021 at Person Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Peed was born October 15, 1936 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Lawrence Radford & Pauline Elizabeth Holt Perkins and was wife of 47 years to the late Benjamin Simon Peed, Jr.  Prior to her quitting work to care for her grandchildren she worked for Eanes Oil Company and Eaton Corp.  Shelby enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, reading, going to church, and being with her family.

Surviving are three children, Benjamin Trent Peed, Chet R. Peed & wife, Brenda, Kamie P. Snow & husband, Andy all of Roxboro, NC, six grandchildren, Brandon Peed, David Sanchez, Meredith Acree, Joshua Peed, Courtney Peed, Bryce Snow, fourteen great grandchildren, and brother, Michael Perkins & wife, Debbie of Roxboro, NC.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Peed is preceded in death by a brother, L.R. Perkins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis McDonald officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church.  

Pallbearers will be Matt Acree, Brandon Peed, Joshua Peed, David Sanchez, Andy Snow, and Bryce Snow.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the Providence Baptist Church Children in Youth Ministry or the Providence Baptist Church Outreach Committee, 1319 Virgilina Road, Roxboro, NC 27573.
