Samuel "Sam" Howard Carroll

SAMUEL HOWARD “SAM” CARROLL age 82, of Roxboro, NC passed away Tuesday night, April 7, 2026 at the VA Medical Center.  Born September 14, 1943 in Mercer Co., WV, son of the late Mae Louise Carroll Hoops and was husband of 62 years to Nancy Jean Dunn Carroll who survives.  He was retired from Fleig Leasing, and also worked for George Transfer and Eaton Corp., was a member of the first class of the Auxillary Police, and was a veteran of the US Army.

Sam enjoyed raising a garden every year, beach trips, going on cruises, and spending time with family & friends.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Bobby Carroll (Kim), granddaughter, Jessica Renee Carroll Parker, great-granddaughter, Paisley L. Parker, sister-in-law, Margie Dunn, and a host of cousins.

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Amanda Dixson and the Rev. Darcy Knight officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
