"Rusty" Russell Paul McLean, Jr.

RUSSELL PAUL “RUSTY” McLEAN, JR., age 67, of 110 North Church Street, Clayton, NC died Tuesday morning, February 15, 2022 Duke Raleigh Hospital.

Mr. McLean was born October 27, 1954 in Harnett County, NC, son of the late Russell Paul McLean, Sr. & the late Mary Elizabeth Evans McLean.  He was a retired carpenter from C.T. Wilson and was of the Methodist faith.

Rusty enjoyed water skiing, carpentry work, Hallmark movies, strawberry milkshakes, being around people, and was a jokester.   

Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer McLean Bowes & husband, Scott of Clayton, NC, Meredith McLean Fralin & husband, Matt of Cary, NC, three grandchildren, Natalie Bowes, Emma Bowes, Noah Fralin, three sisters, Sylvia Royall of Raleigh, NC, Polly McCoy & husband, Larry of Beggs, OK, Caroline Miller & husband, Tom of Braselton, GA, mother of his children, Adrienne McLean, close friends, Kurt & Kathy Snyder, Laura Garilli, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Jay Jarrell and Kurt Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in the Burchwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Scott Bowes, Matt Fralin, Gregg Layfield, Tom Miller, Ed Smallwood, Steve Smallwood, and Kurt Snyder.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the entire healthcare team at Duke Raleigh Hospital who cared for Russell.
