Ronnie Rufus Bowes

RONNIE RUFUS BOWES, age 78, of Roxboro, NC, passed away Sunday night, March 29, 2026 at his home.  Mr. Bowes was born September 22, 1947 in Halifax County, VA, son of the late Rufus & Edith Cornelious Bowes and was husband of 55 years to the late Sandra Orelia Harris Bowes.  He was retired as a self-employed farmer and also previously worked at Burlington Mills and Little Huff Oil Company, was a member of Alton Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the US Army.

Ronnie enjoyed farming, mowing his grass, and NASCAR.

Surviving are two children, Tracy B. Moseley & husband, Charles, Ronald Keith “Skeeter” Bowes, three grandchildren, Davis P. Moseley, Darby P. Moseley, Maris E. Bowes, brother, Kenneth Bowes & wife, Bonnie, and a host of niece & nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Bowes is preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler McCoy Bowes, and nephew, Stephen Glenn Bowes.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2026 in the Bethel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Bowes officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests at the home.  

Pallbearers will be Randy Brandon, Tim Hahn, Brent Howerton, Chris Howerton, Russell Hutchinson, and Ricky Palmer.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Vickie Weaver and Norma Bailey for their care of Ronnie.
