Ronald "Sack" Spencer Ellixson

RONALD "SACK" SPENCER ELLIXSON age 73, of 9547 Hwy. 49 North, Roxboro, NC passed away Saturday morning, November 27, 2021 at the VA Medical Center.

Mr. Ellixson was born October 1, 1948 in Halifax County, VA, son of the late Woodrow Valentine & Beryl Dixon Ellixson and was husband of Teresa Yvonne Cashell Ellixson who survives.  He was retired from Ellixson House Moving, was a member of Florence Avenue Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the US Navy where he served in Vietnam. 

Sack enjoyed hunting, operating heavy equipment, cooking and grilling, and spending time with family and friends. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Tracy Ellixson & wife, Magan of Roxboro, NC, Jennifer Newton & husband, Kenny of Aarons Creek, VA, Cody Ellixson & wife, Amber of Roxboro, NC, nine grandchildren, Seth Ellixson, Payton Walker, Carrie Suttle, Zadock Ellixson, Spencer Ellixson, Lance Newton, Leah Newton, Jake Newton, Codi-Layne Ellixson, siblings, Woodrow Ellixson, Jr. & wife, Diane of South Port, NC, Kay Smith & husband, Kenneth of Graham, NC, Ray Ellixson & wife, Brenda of South Port, NC, Glenda Lassiter & husband, Donnie, Gene Ellixson & wife, Daphne all of Virgilina, VA, step-daughter, Shannon Christa Ruckart & fiancée, George Kaspars of Oldsmar, FL, and step-granddaughter, Skylar McKenzie Tanner.

In addition to his parents Mr. Ellixson is preceded in death by a step-son, Brandon James Ruckart.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Florence Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Herbert Brown and Dr. M. David Chambers officiating.  Interment will follow in the Virgilina Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2021 at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services and at other times at the home of Cody & Amber Ellixson, 67 Kylasu Lane, Roxboro, NC.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Ellixson, Jr., Gerald Ellixson, Julian Ellixson, Seth Ellixson, Anson Mays, Nicholas Mays, Jake Newton, and Lance Newton.  Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Ray Ellixson, W.V. Ellixson, and Ken Smith.
