ROBY TRENT EPPS age 86, of 1041 Epps Martin Road, Roxboro, NC died Tuesday afternoon, September 13, 2022 at Duke Regional Hospital.
Mr. Epps was born November 19, 1935 in Person County, NC, son of the late Zan Epps, Jr. & Louise Rebecca Stuart Epps and was husband of 58 years to Emily Stewart Epps who survives. He was retired from the Person County School System after 20 years of service, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, and was a veteran of the US Army.
Roby was a member of The Gideons International, was former assistant Chief of the Triple Springs Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of the Sappony Tribe.
Surviving in addition to his wife are, four brothers, David A. Epps & wife, Lorraine of Richmond, VA, Ronald K. Epps of Roxboro, NC, Donald B. Epps of Richmond, VA, Julian Michael “Mike” Epps of Mocksville, NC, sister, Janice E. Lewis of Roxboro, NC, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Epps is preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy W. Epps, and sister, Helen J. Epps.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September, 16, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Vernon Wilkerson officiating. The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Jordan B. Lewis, Zach T. Lewis, Eddie A. Martin, Garrey D. Martin, Grayland McConnell, and Timothy A. Oakes. Honorary pallbearers will be Triple Springs Fire Fighters and The Gideons.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2663 High Plains Road, Roxboro, NC 27574 or to Gideons International, P.O. Box 1028, Roxboro, NC 27573.
