Roberto Ortiz-Islas

ROBERTO ORTIZ-ISLAS, age 47, of 59 Dorrance Court, Roxboro, NC died Wednesday morning, December 2, 2020 at Duke University Hospital.

Mr. Islas was born March 21, 1973 in Mexico, son of the late Zenon Ortiz Morales and Oddulia Islas Gayosso who survives and was husband of 29 years to Margarita Salazar Castelan who also survives.  He was a carpenter employed with Cates Contracting and was of the Catholic faith.  Roberto enjoyed working on home projects, cars, basketball, and reading.

Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are three children, Ana Laura Brown & husband, Justin, Brayam Ortiz Salazar, Roberto Joshua Ortiz Salazar, ten siblings, Ines Ortiz Islas, Berta Ortiz Islas, Margarita Ortiz Islas, Gloria Ortiz Islas, Antonio Ortiz Islas, Anastasio Ortiz Islas, Veneranda Ortiz Islas, Gustavo Ortiz Islas, Juan Carlos Ortiz Islas, and Beatriz Guadalupe Ortiz Islas.

The family will receive friends and guests from 12:00 till 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services.
