Robert Leslie Strombeck, Sr.

ROBERT LESLIE STROMBECK, SR., age 81, of Timberlake, NC, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, July 4, 2026 at the Hock Family Pavilion.  Mr. Strombeck was born February 6, 1945 in St. Joseph County, IN, son of the late Paul Francis & Marie Elizabeth Gehl Strombeck and was husband of 26 years to Georgia Ann Dabbs Strombeck who survives.  He was retired from Duke University Hospital, was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the US Navy.

Robert enjoyed bowling, spending time with his family & friends, going to church, and was an avid Duke & Notre Dame fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife are seven children, Robert “Robby” Strombeck, Jr. & wife, Karen, Frances Harward & husband, Mark, Hazel Oakley, Kenny Strombeck & wife, Jacinda, Tammy Weaver & husband, Steve, Tim Weaver, B.P. Weaver, sister, Paulette Rowe, brother, Chuck Brugh & wife, Devon, twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Strombeck is preceded in death by his first wife of 33 years, Gail Hyde Strombeck, two sisters, Mary Beth Perry, Suzi Schneider, and son-in-law, Chris Oakley.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Antioch Baptist Church with Dr. M. David Chambers, Rev. Rick Finley, and Dr. Roger Wall officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.  

Pallbearers will be Drew Harward, Mark Harward, Lee Oakley, Grant Strombeck, Kenny Strombeck, and Robby Strombeck, Jr.  Honorary pallbearers will be B.P. Weaver, Tim Weaver, and Wes Womeldorf.
