Reginald "Reggie" Lee Herring

REGINALD LEE “REGGIE” HERRING, age 86, of Roxboro, NC, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 3, 2026 at his home.  Mr. Herring was born February 26, 1940 in Richmond County, NC, son of the late Earl Hebrew & Addie Bell Bellamy Herring and was husband of nearly 66 years to Barbara Kelly Herring who survives.  He retired as Alcohol Law Enforcement Officer of Person County in 1978 and previously worked for the Southern Pines Police Department for 2 years, was of the Baptist faith, and was veteran of the US Marines.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Debbie H. Fleig & husband, Mitch, three grandsons, Dustin Fleig & fiancé, Emily Furr, Cameron Fleig & wife, Erin, Taylor Fleig, six great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Fleig, Charlotte Fleig, Silas Furr, Salem Furr, Samantha Fleig, and Caroline Fleig.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Herring is preceded in death by siblings, Earl Herring, Wayne Herring, Patricia H. Boyette, and Brad Herring.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026 in the Person Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Alpheus Atkins officiating.  

Pallbearers will be Dempsey Dunn, Jr., Johnny Harris, Cameron Fleig, Dustin Fleig, Taylor Fleig, and David Tilson.  Honorary pallbearer will be Johnny Langford.
