Ramona Mae (Dunlap) Shaffer

RAMONA MAE DUNLAP SHAFFER, age 86, of Timberlake, NC passed away Tuesday evening, June 11, 2024 at her home. 

Mrs. Shaffer was born September 20, 1937 in Kanawha County, WV, daughter of the late Earl and Reba Mae Pennington Dunlap and was wife of 69 years to Cebert “John” Shaffer who survives.  She retired from GTE as a payroll/disbursement clerk.  Prior to failing health, she attended Somerset Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served as bookkeeper. 

Mrs. Shaffer was such a loving mother and wife.   She enjoyed taking care of her family and making sure there was plenty of good food on the table.  

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Debbie Richardson of Stokesdale, NC and Shelley Cates of Timberlake, NC, two grandchildren, Andy Richardson and wife, April of Stokesdale, NC and Jesse Cates and wife, Lalia of Timberlake, NC, sister, Brenda Blackman of Goldsboro, NC, brother, Mike Dunlap of Goldsboro, NC, sister-in-law, Linda Dunlap of Charleston, WV, nieces Kathie Dunlap and Kelli Davis of Charleston, WV and nephew, Mick Dunlap of Charleston, WV. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Dunlap and son-in-law, Tim Richardson.
