NORA MARTIN COLEMAN, age 85 years of Springfield, PA died Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Coleman was born March 15, 1935 in Person County, NC daughter of the late Lamberth Pleasant & Lillian Edith Martin and was wife of 60 years to the late Henry Thomas Coleman. She was a graduate of High Plains School, a long-time resident of Springfield, PA and member of Springfield Baptist Church.
Mrs. Coleman retired from Retail Sales at Strawbridge & Clothier where she worked at both the Ardmore and Springfield stores for over 20 years. She loved being around people and never met a stranger. Nora was very involved in her church and community. She also enjoyed spending time traveling with her husband Henry and loved her family very much and always put them first. Nora was always there to lend a helping hand in any way possible. She was a well-respected, honorable member of the community and a good neighbor.
Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Simmons of Jamison, PA, Kathi Caldwell and husband, Andy of Wallingford, PA, six grandchildren, Danielle Ritenuti, Jessica Harper, Angela Ziemba, Jonathan Simmons, Taylor & Kyle Longacre, seven great grandchildren, brother, Henry F. Martin and wife, Nancy, three sisters, Margie Epps, Clara Shepherd and husband, Moses, Lucy Stewart, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Mrs. Coleman is preceded in death by a sister, Rosa C. Stewart, and two brothers, Ernie Martin, and Carl Martin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests from 12:00 till 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Josh Harper, Kyle Longacre, Taylor Longacre, Tony Mills, Curtis Shepherd, Kelly Small, Zachary Small, and Donnie Stewart. Honorary pallbearer will be Jonathan Simmons.
Nora’s family expresses sincere gratitude to the devoted caregivers who have been extremely dedicated to her throughout her years of illness (Eileen, Linda, Joan, Meg & Natalie).
