Nettie Ann (Lunsford) Hargis

NETTIE ANN LUNSFORD HARGIS, age 90, of 132 J.C. Lunsford Road, Roxboro, NC, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, April 4, 2026 at her home.  Mrs. Hargis was born November 25, 1935 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late James Clinton & Gladys Annie Dixon Lunsford and was wife of 58 years to the late Elie Ray Hargis.  She was retired from farming and North American Aerodynamics, and was a member of Surl Primitive Baptist Church.

Nettie Ann enjoyed cooking, gardening, and taking care of anyone in need.

Surviving are five nieces, one nephew, thirteen great-nieces & nephews, twenty-six great-great nieces & nephews, and her loving companion, Little Girl.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hargis is preceded in death by a daughter, Gladys Louise Hargis, siblings, Jane Critcher, James Hubbard Lunsford, Bote Andrews, Pat Wilkins, William Lunsford, nephews, John Lunsford, Hester Lunsford, Leon Lunsford, Michael Morris, and Kenneth Morris.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026 in the J.C. Lunsford Family Cemetery with George Lunsford officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026 at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services and other times at the home.  

Pallbearers will be Caden Ray Lunsford, Carter Lunsford, Chris Lunsford, Joshua Lunsford, Kaiden Lunsford, and T.J. Lunsford.
