Nell Virginia (Stewart) Stewart

NELL VIRGINIA STEWART, age 93, a resident of Roxboro Assisted Living, passed away Friday afternoon, March 20, 2026.  Mrs. Stewart was born June 17, 1932 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Shanks & Mayonia Epps Stewart and was wife of 40 years to the late Emmitt Junior Stewart.  She was a homemaker and was a member of the Roxboro Church of God.

Nell enjoyed gospel music, attending church, flowers, and spending time with her family & friends.

Surviving are five children, Jeffrey G. Stewart, Joan S. Cash & husband, Steve, Sherry S. Stump, Melody S. Wesley & husband, Donnie, Scott A. Stewart & wife, Crystal, thirteen grandchildren, Renotta Stewart, Ashley Stewart, Phillip Neathery, Ricky Neathery, Steve Neathery, Christy Hawkins (Graham), Daniel Stump (Caroline), Brandon Stump (Kimrey), Justin Allison (Hannah), Leslie Jacobs (Caleb), Carter Brown (April), Krystal Walker (Wayne), Christopher Stewart, step-grandchildren, Shannon Wesley, Heather Wesley Fuqua, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Stewart is preceded in death by siblings, Joe Stewart, Erket Stewart, Bisit Stewart, Adell Stewart, Eula Stewart, and nephew, Paul Stewart.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2026 at Roxboro Church of God with the Rev. Vernon Wilkerson, Rev. Jack Stewart, and Rev. Curtis Wesley officiating.  Interment will follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Melody & Donnie Wesley, 78 Duncan Plantation Drive, Timberlake, NC.

Pallbearers will be Jody Allison, Chris Morasco, Phillip Neathery, Ricky Neathery, Gary Powell, and Dennis Stewart.
