Nancy Rita (Barr) Glasscock

NANCY RITA BARR BROWN GLASSCOCK, age 73, of Roxboro, NC passed away peacefully Thursday evening, May 1, 2025 at her residence with her loving family by her side. 

Mrs. Glasscock was born January 29, 1952 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Dillion McDouglas Barr & Nancy Arlington Yancey and was wife of the late Nicki Martin Brown and the late Henry Allen Glasscock.  She was retired from Walker NAPA and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.

Rita loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed cooking, shopping, mowing her yard, and tending to her flowers.

Surviving are two sons, Doug Brown & wife, Tammy, David Brown (Sandy Dicus), sister, Marie B. Howell & husband, Schoeneck, three step-children, Wanda G. Rogers & husband, Mark, Mickey Glasscock (Dawn Oakley), Roger Glasscock & wife, Tara, eleven grandchildren, Zana Atkins & husband, Brandon, Danni Brown, Kalli Brown, Kayla Brown, Alexis Brown, Brittany Garrett & husband, Caleb, Ben Rogers & wife, Ashley, Ashley Clayton & husband, Kelly, Amber Glasscock, Amaris Glasscock, Erik Glasscock, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Glasscock is preceded in death by a son, Timothy Martin Brown, and brother, Larry Arnold Barr.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025 in the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Barry Chambers officiating.  Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services.
