Mitchell Carr

CLYDE MITCHELL CARR age 55, of 30 Carr Farms Road, Roxboro, NC died Thursday afternoon, January 5, 2023 at Duke University Hospital.

Mr. Carr was born July 2, 1967 in Person County, NC, son of the late Leon Stanley “Stan” Carr & the late Macklin Gray Grinstead Carr and was husband of 13 years to Judy Lynn Reaves Carr who survives.  He was retired from the Person County Sheriff’s Office after 19 years of service and also farmed and was of the Baptist faith.

Mitch was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed farming, fishing, playing guitar and singing, and being with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Tony Carr, Tiffany Carr, Christian Tatum, eight grandchildren, and a great grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2023 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Frankie Reaves officiating.  Interment will follow in the McGhee’s Mill Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 6:30 till 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Colby Bowes, Wayne Bowes, Will Clayton, Sam Grandison, Alvis Green, and Christian Tatum. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Carr, Tony Carr, and Zac Carr.
