Michael Lynn Jones

MICHAEL LYNN JONES, age 70, of Roxboro, NC passed away Saturday afternoon, July 6, 2024 at Person Memorial Hospital.    

Mr. Jones was born August 24, 1953 in Person County, NC, son of the late Gabriel Pryor and Thelma Elizabeth Fulp Jones.  He was employed as a manager at Person County Group Homes and was of the Baptist faith.

Mike enjoyed cooking, going to the beach, NASCAR, the Carolina Tarheels, listening to country and beach music, and spending time with his family.   

Surviving are his daughters, Crystal Jones of Oxford, NC, Jessica Williams & husband, Lee, Angela Whitlow all of Roxboro, six grandchildren, Jordan Reina, Jewell Reina, Tripp Williams, Josh Ferguson, Jessica Ferguson, Caleb Donovan, two great-grandsons, Julius Puryear, Noah Donovan, brother-in-law, Johnny Langford, and a host of nieces & nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones is preceded in death by a son, Michael Scott Jones, brothers, Jerry Wade Jones, Ricky Jones, and sister, Norma Jean Langford.   

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2024 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Victor Blackwell officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests from 12:30 till 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home and from noon till 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at the home of Johnny Langford, 450 Gabriel Jones Road, Roxboro, NC.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Gentry, Kevin Jones, Mark Jones, and Johnny Langford.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 11796, Charlotte, NC 28220.
