"Our precious little boy, Matthias Lee Thompson, was born into the arms of Jesus on May 1, 2026. While our arms are empty, we find peace knowing he was welcomed into eternity by the Savior who says, 'Let the little children come to me' (Matthew 19:14).
We spent months dreaming of the day we would hold Matthias, but we surrender those dreams to the One who 'knit him together' so perfectly in the womb (Psalm 139:13). Though we ache for the milestones we would have shared—his first prayer, steps, and smile—we live in the sure and certain hope that we will see Matthias again when we are reunited in God’s eternal kingdom.
He is survived by his parents, Matthew and Heather Thompson, and his siblings, Lily and Piper Thompson, his Grandparents Jerry and Dana Thompson, Lisa Flowers(Billy Ray), Philip Barbee, his Great Grandmother Faye Beneville. Preceded in Death by Great grandparents Raymond Beneville, Mack and Pearl Ferrell, Nancy and Johnny Ashley, Dewight Beavers, Carolyn Hinesley. He is also deeply loved by his extended family, the community, and his church family at Theresa Baptist Church, all of whom look forward to that glorious day.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00PM Monday, May 4,2026 at Theresa Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Ben Francis officiating with special words from Rev. Garrett Pope.
