Mary Jo (Smith) Steel

MARY JO SMITH STEEL, age 87, of 608 Clayton Ave., Roxboro, NC died Monday afternoon, November 2, 2020 at Duke Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Steel was born June 15, 1933 in Lamb County, TX, daughter of the late Henry James & Catherine Jane Young Smith.  She retired as an accountant and was of the Methodist faith. 

Surviving are two granddaughters, Katherine “Katie” Roberts, Annie Maye Day, two grandsons, Jaxon Daniel Hagood, Kylan Crawford Hagood, and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Steel is preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Jane Steel, and several siblings.

The family will receive friends and guests from 3:00 til 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services.
