Marjorie Jean (Parsons) McNeil

MARJORIE JEAN PARSONS McNEIL, age 84, of 5660 Durham Road, Roxboro, NC, passed away Sunday morning, August 6, 2023 at Roxboro Assisted Living.

Mrs. McNeil was born October 12, 1938 in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late Robert George & June Marjorie Johnson Parsons, and was the wife of the late Harry Justin McNeil.  She was a retired child care provider and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She enjoyed the outdoors working in her flower and vegetable garden, doing needlepoint, crochet, sewing, reading, cooking, baking, and visiting with the shut-ins.   

Surviving are three children, William “Bill” McNeil and wife, Nancy Graybeal, of Cary, NC, Dan McNeil & wife, Angie, of Nemacolin, PA, and Elizabeth McNeil of Mooers Forks, NY, two grandchildren, Kelly Blevins, Krista McNeil, three great-grandchildren, sister, Carol Shoemaker, and brother, Robert Parsons.   

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. McNeil is preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Parsons, and Phillip Parsons. 

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Elder Terry Hawkins officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
