Macklin Gray (Grinstead) Carr

MACKLIN GRAY GRINSTEAD CARR age 83, of 78 Carr Farms Road, Roxboro, NC died Saturday afternoon, November 12, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. Carr was born February 7, 1939 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Albert Yancey Grinstead & Viola Lilliam Allison Grinstead and was wife of 49 years to the late Leon Stanley “Stan” Carr.  She was retired from farming and was a member of Allensville United Methodist Church.

Mac enjoyed playing the guitar and piano, gospel music, talking on the phone with her friends, crocheting, her church, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Clyde Mitchell “Mitch” Carr & wife, Judy, three grandchildren, Tony Carr, Tiffany Carr, Christian Tatum, eight great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, two sisters, Lillian McKee, and Billie West.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Carr is preceded in death by four sisters, Lottie Love Clay, Evelyn Warren, Jenny Lee Tatum, Esther Knott, and brother, Lawrence Grinstead.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November, 16, 2022 in the Allensville United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Ruth officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests at the home of Mitch & Judy Carr, 30 Carr Farms Road, Roxboro, NC.
