Lucy Jane (Stigall) Poole

LUCY JANE STIGALL POOLE, age 93, of 13301 Virgilina Road, Roxboro, NC, died Wednesday morning, October 19, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. Poole was born June 21, 1929 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Spurgeon Grover & Evelyn Puryear Stigall and was wife of 61 years to the late John Knight Poole, Sr.  She was retired from Southern States and was a member of High View Baptist Church.

Mrs. Poole enjoyed cooking, tending to her flowers, going to church, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are three children, Jimmie E. Poole & wife, Eady of Rocky Mount, NC, John K. “Johnny” Poole, Jr. of Hillsborough, NC, Sandi P. Hughes & husband, Donnie of Halifax, VA, four grandchildren, Jay Poole & wife, Hania, Heath Crews, Seth Poole, Lesli Tuck & husband, Justin, four great grandchildren, Sophie Poole, Jack Poole, Reed Tuck, Lake Tuck, and sister, Margie Tingen.  

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Poole is preceded in death by three sisters, Jeanette Clack, Helen Young, Sylvia Hightower, and brother, Steve Stigall.  

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022, in the High View Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Avery Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends and guests from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service.  

Pallbearers will be Heath Crews, Tim Gentry, Glenn Glasscock, Jay Poole, Seth Poole, and Justin Tuck.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to High View Baptist Church, 144 High View Church Road, Roxboro, NC 27574.
