Louise Salley Thomas

BESSIE LOUISE SALLEY THOMAS age 88, of 901 Ridge Road, Roxboro, NC died Friday morning, March 13, 2020 at Roxboro Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Thomas was born March 22, 1931, in Halifax County, VA daughter of the late Charles Edward Salley, Sr. & Annie Reeves Salley and was wife of 57 years to the late Sam Edward Thomas. Prior to retirement she worked along with her husband at Thomas Auto Sales and also previously farmed and worked for Leggett of South Boston and was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.  Louise enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and being with her family.

Surviving are a son, Dean D. Thomas & wife Marie of Roxboro, NC, two grandchildren, Jason Thomas & wife, Allison, Lisa T. Blalock & husband, Jonathan all of Roxboro, NC, three great grandchildren, Eli Blalock, Lilly Blalock, Mary Katherine Thomas, and a twin sister, Lucille Shotwell of Oakland, MD.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by three brothers, Charles E. Salley, Jr., James R. Salley, and John H. Salley.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2020 in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating. The family will receive guests at the home of Dean & Marie Thomas, 323 Haywood Bailey Road, Roxboro, NC.
