Laurie Crabtree Boyette, age 62, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, after a long and courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on November 24, 1963, in Lubbock, Texas, Laurie lived a life filled with music, laughter, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
A gifted singer, songwriter, and musician, Laurie’s voice was known to “make the windows rattle,” and her songs reflected the warmth and beauty of her spirit. She played both piano and guitar with passion and joy. Beyond music, Laurie found happiness in horseback riding, painting, cooking, and camping under the stars with those she loved. Her compassion extended to all creatures, as she devoted time to rescuing abandoned dogs and cats and was a member of Long Memorial United Methodist Church.
Laurie is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, John Morgan Boyette, and cherished daughter, Olivia Morgan Boyette, sister, Dana McCabe, and mother-in-law, Alice Boyette. She was preceded in death by her parents, David William Crabtree, and Gay Gardenhire Crabtree; brother, David Crabtree; and father-in-law, C.W. Boyette.
