Kenneth Lee Chambers

KENNETH LEE CHAMBERS age 67, of 4171 Gordonton Road, Hurdle Mills, NC died Thursday night, April 16, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Chambers was born October 27, 1952, in Person County, NC son of the late George Romie & Edna Dare Riggs Chambers and was husband of 50 years to Dorothy Reaves Chambers who survives. He retired from AW and also previously farmed, worked at Eaton Corp., IBM, and was a member of Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church.  Kenneth enjoyed gardening and restoring old things not just for show but to also use like old tractors, tobacco slides, and wagons.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Kevin Chambers & wife, Heidi of Timberlake, NC, Keith Chambers of Hurdle Mills, NC, Kyle Chambers of Timberlake, NC, five grandchildren, Justin Chambers, Colby Chambers, Bailey Chambers, Kasey Chambers, Hayden Chambers, a great granddaughter, Annabelle Faye Chambers, two brothers, Cecil Chambers & wife, Katie, Franklin Chambers & wife, Millie all of Hurdle Mills, NC, three sisters, Dorothy Azzarello of FL, Susan Dunkley & husband, Randy, and Rebecca Davis & husband, Lynn all of Hurdle Mills, NC.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Chambers is preceded in death by a brother, Howard Chambers, and three sisters, Virginia Dare Whitt, Brenda Henderson, and Betty Ford.

A private family Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2020 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Richard Rorrer officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Chambers, Dink Chambers, Doug Chambers, Michael Chambers, Shawn Chambers, Joshua Davis, Jason Dunkley, Tony Stone, Mike Way, and Roger Whitt.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church c/o Theresa Burnette, 3173 Bellemont-Mt. Hermon Road, Burlington, NC 27215.

Due to the Executive Order regarding COVID-19, attendance will be limited to 50 people.
