Johnny Luther Bright

JOHNNY LUTHER BRIGHT, age 74, of 135 Sunset Drive, Milton, NC passed away Friday morning, January 24, 2025 at Duke University Hospital. 

Mr. Bright was born January 5, 1951 in Shenandoah County, VA, son of the late Carl & Mary Virginia Haun Bright and was husband of nearly 38 years to Patricia Ann Cole Bright who survives.  He was employed with Allied Universal Security, retired from Semora Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of McGhees Mill Baptist Church.

Johnny enjoyed hunting, fishing, and telling jokes. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are five children, Gary Hahn & wife, Terri, Jeff Bright & wife, Lisa, Scott Hahn, Laura Huntley & husband, John, Brian Schmidt, brother, Carl “Junior” Bright, Jr., eight grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bright is preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Baber.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2025 at McGhees Mill Baptist Church with Pastor Frankie Reaves officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 1:00 till 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. 

Pallbearers will be Charles Carr, Mike Daniels, Bill Hawkins, Chad Kendrick, Gary Magnum, and Larry Seacreft.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the McGhees Mill Baptist Church, 9000 McGhees Mill Road, Semora, NC 27343.
