JOHN CHARLES JENKINS, SR., age 75, of 126 Frank Cash Road, Timberlake, NC passed away Saturday morning, May 11, 2024 at the Hock Family Pavilion.
Mr. Jenkins was born November 1, 1948 in Durham County, NC, son of the late Arthur Bernice & Roberta Johnson Jenkins and was husband of 50 years to the late Mary Ware Jenkins. He was a self-employed repairman and was of the Baptist faith.
John enjoyed fishing, camping, his dogs, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are two children, Bonnie J. Childress of Danville, VA, John Charles Jenkins, Jr. & wife, Buffy of Timberlake, NC, five grandchildren, Justin Clack, Jessica Dew, Dustin Dew, Nicole Jenkins, Kristie Jenkins, four great-grandchildren, Tanner Dew, Logan Dew, Mason Dew, Ava Dew, two brothers, Ed Jenkins & wife, Carol Ann, and Buddy Jenkins & wife, Paulette.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Jenkins is preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Graham, Doris King, and two brothers, Wallace Jenkins, and Paul Jenkins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. John Riggsbee officiating. Interment will follow in the Gentry-Walker Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2024 at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Harley Cash, Dustin Dew, Tanner Dew, Jason Mills, Larry Perry, and Jerry Wiseman. Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Koestner.
