John Hunt Gurley

JOHN HUNT GURLEY, age 82, of Timberlake, NC passed away Thursday night, November 20, 2025 at Croasdaile Village. Born May 31, 1943 in Durham Co., NC, son of the late Harvey & Mattie Harrell Gurley.  He was retired as owner of Gurley’s Body Shop and was a veteran of the US Navy.

John enjoyed repairing and restoring cars, rescuing animals, and was a fix-it man.

Surviving are his companion of more than 30 years, Katherine Hardy, daughter, Traci Hall & husband, Josh, two grandsons, Dylan Hall, and Dalton Hall

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gurley is preceded in death by a brother, Fulton Gurley.

Per John’s wishes, no services are planned.
