John Eddie Briggs, Jr.

JOHN EDDIE BRIGGS, JR., age 68, of 303 Edgar Street, Roxboro, NC passed away Sunday afternoon, November 23, 2025 at his home. Born July 31, 1957 in Person Co., NC, son of the late John Eddie Briggs, Sr. & Geraldine Wilson Briggs and was husband of 26 years to Carolyn Ann Tuck Briggs who survives.  He was retired from Piedmont Maintenance & Services after 28 years of service and attended New Life Independent Baptist Church.

John enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, NASCAR, camping, four-wheeling, watching wrestling, mowing his lawn, his church family, and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two step-children, Penny Gail Clayton, Nicholas Gray Clayton, three grandchildren, Micah Walters, Anthony Snead, Alayla Tuck, sister, Jane B. Whitt & husband, Mike, the joy of his life, great-grandson, Silas Walters, and a host of nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Briggs is preceded in death by a brother, James Everette Briggs.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025 at New Life Independent Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Whitt officiating.  Interment will be in the Clement Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.  The family will receive friends & guests from 1:00 till 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
