Janice Marie Puryear

JANICE MARIE PURYEAR, age 74, of 1600 East C Street, Butner, NC passed away peacefully Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Hock Family Pavilion.

Ms. Puryear was born January 23, 1949 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Thomas Edward Puryear, Sr. & the late Velma Mildred Gentry Puryear.  Janice was of the Baptist faith. 

Surviving are her siblings, Peggy P. Mooney & husband, Rev. Jesse Mooney of Supply, NC, Rennis E. Puryear & wife, Bee, Phillip R. Puryear & wife, Linda, Tammy Puryear & husband, Larry Sigmon all of Roxboro, NC, Rev. Thomas E. “Tommy” Puryear, Jr. & wife, Wanda of Tar Heel, NC, Jackie V. Puryear & wife, Kendra of Supply, NC, uncle, Herbert Gentry of Carthage, NC, and a host of cousins. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2023 at Olive Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Mooney and the Rev. Tommy Puryear officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Pallbearers will be Adam Mooney, Dwayne Mooney, Paul Mooney, Bryan Puryear, and Jonathan Puryear.
