Ida Mildred (Pleasant) Kendrick

IDA MILDRED PLEASANT KENDRICK, age 77, of 8819 Leasburg Road, Leasburg, NC, died Monday morning, August 1, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.

Mrs. Kendrick was born December 4, 1944 in Caswell County, NC daughter of the late John Preston & Edith Magnolia Winstead Pleasant and was wife of 60 years to Wallace Lee Kendrick who survives. She was retired from farming and the Person County School System and was a member of Leasburg United Methodist Church.

Ida enjoyed reading, board games, playing cards, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Stacey Kendrick & wife, Penny of Roxboro, NC, Tracey Kendrick & wife, Sharon of Wilmington, NC, Amanda Kendrick of Leasburg, NC, six grandchildren, Christie Perkins & husband, Lane, Codie Kendrick & wife, Monica, Trevor Kendrick & wife, Hunter, Tanner Kendrick, Christopher Crabtree, Justin Crabtree, four great grandchildren, Skyler Perkins, Conner Perkins, Lindsey Kendrick, Ely Kendrick, two sisters, Joann Brann, and Dot “Speedy” Oakes.  

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kendrick is preceded in death by a son, Daron “Daboo” Kendrick, sister, Jennie Mae Parker, and two brothers, Robert Pleasant, and John Lee Pleasant.  

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Leasburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Pearce officiating.  Interment will follow in the Leasburg Community Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the services at the church and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great grandchildren.
