Howard Keith Nelson

HOWARD KEITH NELSON, age 64, of Timberlake, NC died Sunday afternoon, November 24, 2024 at his home.

Mr. Nelson was born July 8, 1960 in Person County, NC, son of the late James Howard Nelson and Mildred Thomas Day Nelson who survives and was husband of nearly 44 years to Dorothy Catherine “Dotti” Kelly Nelson who also survives.  He was retired from Duke Energy, was of the Baptist faith, and was a veteran of the US Air Force.

Keith enjoyed fishing, baseball, camping, NASCAR, spending time with his grandchildren, and was an accomplished pilot.

Surviving in addition to his mother and wife are a daughter, Tara Carmichael & husband, Clay, daughter-in-law, Jesse Estrada, grandchildren, Ace Pulliam, Anna Carmichael, Liam Nelson, Elijah Nelson, brother, James “Jimmy” Nelson, sister, Laurie N. Barnette & husband, Zeb, nieces, Amber Ellixson & family, Jenny Humphries & family, nephews, Brandon Nelson, Zeb Barnette, III & family, Colton Barnette & family, Traycer Barnette & family, sisters-in-law, Patti McCarthy & family, Michele Cooper & family, brothers-in-law, Dennis Kelly & family, and Kevin & Doreen Cooper & family. 

In addition to his father, Mr. Nelson is preceded in death by a son, Christopher Michael Nelson.

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 1, 2024 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Dennis McDonald officiating.
