HENRY ALLEN GLASSCOCK, age 88, of 851 Charlie Tapp Road, Roxboro, NC, died Tuesday morning, June 7, 2022 at his home.
Mr. Glasscock was born November 17, 1933 in Halifax County, VA son of the late John Henry & Janie Elizabeth Hatchal Glasscock and was husband of 34 years to Nancy Rita Barr Glasscock (who some say was an angel) who survives. He was retired from the Coca Cola Bottling Company after 36 years of service, and for a number of years he did lawn work along with good friend Tom Burton, was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church where he was a member of the Baptist Men and sang in the choir, and was a veteran of the US Air Force.
Henry enjoyed music and dancing, watching NASCAR and boxing, golfing, was famous for his BBQ chicken and sauce, and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Wanda G. Rogers & husband, Mark, Mickey Glasscock (Dawn Oakley) all of Roxboro, NC, Roger Glasscock & wife, Tara of Timberlake, NC, three step-sons, Doug Brown, David Brown (Sandi Dicus), Tim Brown & wife, Lisa all of Roxboro, NC, eleven grandchildren, Ben Rogers & wife Ashley, Ashley Clayton & husband, Kelly, Amber Glasscock, Amaris Glasscock, Erik Glasscock, Zana Atkins & husband, Brandon, Danni Brown, Kalli Brown, Kayla Brown, Alexis Brown, Brittany Garrett & husband, Caleb, eight great grandchildren, Kendall Rogers, Luke Rogers, Cole Clayton, Harley Rae Clayton, Kallyn Rae Brown, Arlington Rae Atkins, Aisley Kate Atkins, Nickolas Wayne Clements, and sister, Peggy G. Travis & husband, Skeeter of Henderson, NC.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Glasscock is preceded in death by four brothers, John Glasscock, Ernest Lee Glasscock, James Edward Glasscock, and Billy Glasscock.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 in the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Barry Chambers officiating. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services from 9:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022.
