HELEN DARE GUILL GENTRY age 87, of 61 Charlie Gentry, Roxboro, NC, died Saturday evening, October 15, 2022 at the Hock Family Pavilion.
Mrs. Gentry was born November 8, 1934 in Person County, NC daughter of the late Frank Guill, Sr. & the late Nannie Finch Guill and was wife of 62 years to the late Arthur Nelson “Buddy” Gentry. In her younger years she worked at Roxboro Manufacturing and later retired from Eaton Corp. She was a member of Allensville United Methodist Church and also volunteered at Person Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Gentry enjoyed tending her vegetable garden, keeping her house clean, collecting dolls, reading, and spending time with all of her family.
Surviving are three children, Rick Gentry & wife, Martin, Dianne Tadlock & husband, Keith all of Roxboro, NC, Lisa Duncan & partner, Trey Hughes of Hillsborough, NC, six grandchildren, Steve Gentry & wife, Paige, Bill Gentry & partner, Chassidy, Jamie Wesley & husband, Brad, Adam Tadlock & wife, Kaycee, Justin Duncan & wife, Alma, Kelsey Gillespie & husband, William, ten great grandchildren, Kyle Gentry & wife, Megan, Dylan Gentry & wife, Kaley, Seth Gentry, Candace Rivers & husband, Spencer, Jaxson Wesley, Julia Wesley, Nolan Tadlock, Naomi Tadlock, Avery Duncan, Caden Duncan, three great-great grandchildren, Leighton Burch, Blakleigh Rivers, and Graham Gentry.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Gentry is preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Day, and brother, Frank “Junior” Guill, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Allensville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Denny Freeland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Justin Duncan, Bill Gentry, Dylan Gentry, Kyle Gentry, Seth Gentry, Steve Gentry, Adam Tadlock, and Jaxson Wesley. Honorary pallbearers will be Caden Duncan, Graham Gentry, and Nolan Tadlock.
