Hazel Anette (Poole) Wrenn

HAZEL ANNETTE POOLE WRENN, age 84, of 7060 Dirgie Mine Road, Roxboro, NC passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, November 22, 2023 at the Hock Family Pavilion.

Mrs. Wrenn was born May 12, 1939 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Albert Jeffrey & Lula Annie Robinson Poole and was wife of 31 years to the late John Earl Wrenn.  She was retired from Collins & Aikman Corp. and was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. 

Hazel enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, gardening, reading, and helping take care of others.

Surviving are three children, Ann O. Warren & husband, Earl, of Roxboro, NC, Danny Oakley & wife, Nancy of Ringgold, VA, Robert L. Oakley of Roxboro, NC, two step-children, Wayne Wrenn & wife, Sherry, L. Duck Wrenn & husband, Ricky Long, eight grandchildren, Jennifer Claiborne, Breanna Warren, Preston Warren, Elizabeth Stowe, Amelia Oakley, Eli Oakley, Sara Oakley, Drew Heath, eight great-grandchildren, sister, Phyliss Winstead, three step-grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Wrenn is preceded in death by a husband, Johnnie Ragan, daughter, Brenda Gail Oakley Saunders, brother, James Linwood Poole, and step-daughter, Melinda W. Davis. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Olive Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Freddie Hobbs officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Ajay Chauhan, Lee Davis, Barry Poole, Scottie Poole, Matthew Terry, Chuck Wrenn, and Heath Wrenn.
